In 2024, 3,902 work-related injuries will be recorded in the sector, and the youngest workers are more likely to be injured than their older colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is not a coincidence - it is a signal to employers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u27a1\ufe0f Young workers have the least experience and less familiarity with the workplace. The employer therefore has a special responsibility to provide adequate training, clear instructions and real supervision, especially in the first weeks of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u27a1\ufe0f 95 % of all injuries in construction are sustained by men, as the sector is male-dominated. However, the risk of injury is almost the same among male and female craft workers, which means that the risk is determined by the nature of the work and the tasks rather than by gender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u27a1\ufe0f The most common accidents in construction are when a worker is injured by an object, a fall or by sharp or pointed tools. Injuries caused by electrical voltages are also recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u27a1\ufe0f In 2024 and 2025, construction recorded the lowest number of fatalities in the last ten years, with 2 fatalities each year. However, the overall number of injuries remains high, and systematic prevention work remains essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arbeidstilsynet points out that many accidents could have been avoided if proper risk assessments had been carried out and preventive measures implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
